 Not Authentic But Better Than SomeJul 31, 2010

This is not the actual poster that hung in Mulder's office. The original looked much more like a photograph than this odd thing you see before you. There was more than one version of the poster over the nine years of the series and this is similar to the original (but not the one used the longest- it had a far different tree-scape) but is not quite the same. However, the UFO is a better image than some other so-called "authentic" posters that looks more like a flying hamburger than anything else. Somehow, there is a vast shortage of authentic IWTB posters out there and if you can put in the research to find a really good one, then more power to you. But if you don't really care then I suppose this poster will do well for you.

The poster is a lie. It isn't the one that was shown when I purchased this poster. It isn't a bad poster, but I am really disappointed however, that I was lied to. If you really want the poster that is advertised DO NOT PURCHASE THIS POSTER.

I guess it's a good deal for only a couple bucks, but the one sent to me was the bell-looking IWTB poster and not the one advertised here. The hassle isn't worth it to return the item, just beware that if you order this item expecting the saucer poster, you might still end up with the bell-looking one.

"Jimmy the Templar"
This poster was the first IWTB poster that was used in the "X-Files" series. This poster was used from seasons 1 until season 3. After that, it was re-created due to copyright issues. The 2nd version was used for the remainder of the show and is more brown-ish in color and the trees are mucher closer to the saucer. Both posters are very cool/
In any case, this poster is pretty awesome.

This actually is not an original, as they are nearly impossible to come by and would most likely infringe on many copyright laws. The "X-Files" production staff created the original poster from a blow up of an actual UFO photograph and added the words, "I WANT TO BELIEVE" on the bottom. There are only a few existing original posters, one of which is now in the possession of the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History. Whether or not they currently have it on display though is not to my knowledge. This however is one of the most convincing remakes that I have seen and I would recommend it to any fan with the attached disclaimer that this is not identical to the original however it is a remake or another artists interpretation of the original poster.
